Povilaitis, 91, of St. Augustine, formerly of Beverly Beach, died Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Moultrie Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Povilaitis was born March 1, 1922 in New Orleans, LA a daughter of Philip and Virginia Gicobbe Masaracchia. 

She had owned and operated her own restaurant in Michigan and moved to Beverly Beach in 1977. Mrs. Povilaitis was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, where she sang in the church choir. She also was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Povilaitis enjoyed cooking, playing cards and most of all, spending time with her family & friends.

Her husband of 53 years, Al Povilaitis, died in 1996.

She is survived by a daughter, Ginger Lindbergh of St. Augustine; one son, Edward Povilaitis of Lake Orion, MI; one brother, Joseph Masaracchia of Morton Grove, Ill; four grandchildren, Greg Toornman, Chris Toornman, Heather Reid and Justin Povilaitis, and five great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nick Mayser.

Arrangements are in the trust and care of the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home in Flagler Beach. Funeral services will be private.
