Obituary of Alice May Powell

Alice May Powell, 104 of Palm Coast passed away on August 8, 2021.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 19 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held privately on Friday, August 20, 2021 with Dr. Jeff Beebe, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating, Please observe all COVID-19 Precautions. Entombment will be in Flagler Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Powell, a resident of Palm Coast since 1986 coming from the Bronx NY, passed away on August 8, 2021. She was born in Jamaica on May 7, 1917 a daughter of the late James and Mary Kern Ricketts.

Mrs. Powell earned a degree in Nursing. She traveled to Italy, Germany, Panama, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and numerous islands in the Caribbean. She was a devoted member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She loved shopping, keeping current on the news by reading newspapers and magazines, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing bingo.

Preceding her in death was her husband William J. Powell in 2006.

Surviving are her sister, Martha Ricketts of Lauderdale Lakes FL, a stepdaughter, Phyllis McVay of Palm Coast, several nieces and nephews including Lloyd and Madeline Williams, Franklinton NC, Clover and Edmond Jackson of Montego Bay, Jamaica, Cynthia and Karen Bennett of Brooklyn NY and Joy and Michael Cain of Panama.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church in memory of Alice Mary Powell.

Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
