David Allen Ramey, 46 of Palm Coast died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his residence from an apparent heart attack. He was born October 26, 1966 in Arlington Heights, Ill., a son of Raymond and Vesta Workman Ramey.

David was a 1984 graduate of Streamwood High School. He attended Monmouth College receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1988, then Bradley University, receiving his master’s degree. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He also loved playing Pirates of the Caribbean on the computer. David had worked for the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families as an investigator.

Besides his parents of Flagler Beach, he is survived by his wife 23 years, the former Janice Cone, whom he married August 19, 1989; two daughters Alexandra and Samantha Ramey; one son Lucas Ramey, all of Palm Coast, two sisters, Jeri Gurnicz and Karen Gregg both of Carol Stream, Ill., and four nieces, Brandi Chisom, Ashley Gurnicz-Elsner, Mackenzie Gregg and Jessie Gregg.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road in Flagler Beach. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, 2301 Commerce Parkway (Located behind Wendy’s off of Highway 100) with Pastor Eric Trawick officiating. Interment will be at the Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
