PALM COAST - Norma J.  Roberts,  78,  of  Cayuga  Court,  a  retired  counselor,  died  Saturday  at  Flagler  Pines  Nursing  Home, Bunnell.  .

Mrs.  Roberts  was  born  in  Charleroi,  Pa.,  and  moved  to  this  area  in  1986  from  Augusta,  Ga.  She  was  a  member  of  the  Association  of  Research  &  Enlightenment,  American  Association  of  University  Women,  Alpha  Gamma  Delta,  and  was  a  volunteer  for  Hospice  of  Volusia/Flagler.  She enjoyed spiritual studies, world traveling, theater and decorating.

Survivors  include  her  hus­band  of  54  years,  Edward;  three  sons,  Richard,  Ponte  Vedra: Kenneth,  Arvada,  Colo.,  and  Keith,  Broomfield;  and  three  grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Norma J. Roberts, 78, who died at the Flagler Pines Nursing Home December 16, 2006, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. South, Flagler Beach, FL 32136. Her family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until time of service. There will be a reception at the Roberts Family home in Palm Coast following the service.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Charleroi, Pa., and graduated from Westminster College where she earned a degree in Speech and Drama. She later earned a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling at the College of William and Mary. Norma had many interests and she worked for numerous organizations, including Hospice, Respite Care for the Elderly, Comprehensive Mental Health Services, and Planned Parenthood.

She also taught Court Reporting, trained professionals to help individuals in Nursing Homes, and worked as a Substitute Teacher. She was especially interested in spiritual studies, and was an active member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, where she served as Facilitator and Administrative Assistant for conferences. She had tremendous energy and was determined to make a positive difference in the world.

Mrs. Roberts moved with her husband to Palm Coast in 1986, having lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia. She loved theatre and traveled extensively.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband of 54 years, Edward; three sons, Kenneth, Arvada, Colo., Keith, Broomfield, Colo., Richard, Ponte Vedra, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Emeralde and Benjamin.
