Diamantino Gomes RodriguesOn Sunday, October 13, 2019, Diamantino Gomes Rodrigues, loving husband, father of two sons and grandfather of four girls, passed away at the age of 80.
Diamantino was born on March 1, 1939, in Mertola, Portugal. He married Maria Emilia Matos on February 4, 1968, in Portugal.
He came to the United States in 1970 from Sydney, Australia. They resided and raised their two sons in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He worked for General Motors for more than 25 years before retiring to Palm Coast, Florida. He loved spending time with his family and friends, working in his garden, traveling, and watching his favorite soccer team, Benfica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his three sisters, Isabel, Fernanda, Maria, his brother Ze Maria and his beloved wife, Maria Emilia.
He is survived by his two sons, Luis Rodrigues and wife Paula Vieira-Rodrigues of Hillside, New Jersey. Paul Rodrigues and wife Diane Sardo-Rodrigues of Linden, New Jersey, four granddaughters, Isabella, Arianna, Viviana and Vanessa.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday October 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home with interment to follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens.
