Seymour M. (Sid) Sackrin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on March 9, 2009 in Bunnell at the age of 93.

Born in Brooklyn NY, he received his bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and spent his career working as an economic statistician for the federal government. He served in a number of agencies, including the Departments of Agriculture and Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission, and authored various publications in the fields of agricultural economics and statistical methodology.

As an accomplished musician, he helped finance his college and graduate studies by playing piano in dance orchestras. He and his wife retired to Palm Coast in 1974, where they were very involved in the community. He accompanied the Palm Coast Toasters, a men's chorus and more recently, assisted the choir of Temple Beth Shalom.

Preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Angelica, he is survived by his son, Joel (Rosamund) of Maryland; daughter, Beverly (Jerome) Martineau, of Coral Springs FL; sister, Lillian Grogin of New York; sister-in-law, Tillie Sakren of West Palm Beach, FL; granddaughters, Jessica (Robert) Territo, Leah (Jonah) Swann, Gabriella and Olivia Sackrin; two great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held today (Wednesday) at 10:00 AM in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach, with Rabbi Merrill Shapiro officiating.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Temple Beth Shalom of Palm Coast, the Smile Train of Washington, DC or the Patient Care Fund of Flagler Pines Nursing Home, Bunnell.

Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
