Manuela Santiago-Morales



On July 24, 2020 the Lord called Manuela Santiago-Morales, 83 of Bunnell, to His presence.

She was born January 1, 1937 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, daughter of Gumercindo Morales-Morales and Ramona Vila-Rivera.

At the age of 8, Manuela moved to Lorain, Ohio, and at the age of 14 moved to Manhattan, New York, where she met her future husband, Carmelo Santiago. She was devoted to reading and studying the Bible throughout her entire life. She enjoyed singing songs of Praise and loved to go fishing. Her most enjoyable passion was cooking for her family. Manuela was a Pentecostal Missionary and lived for the Lord, serving others.

Her husband of 28 years, Carmelo Santiago whom she married April 25, 1953, died April 16, 1981.

She is survived by her five children: Israel Santiago of Holly Hill, Marienellie (Angel) Sosa of Palm Coast, Ruth (Rafael) Sonera of Auburn, GA., Evelyn (Jorge Luis) Alicea of Palm Coast, and Iries Santiago of Bunnell. Eleven grandchildren, Iris, Peter, Robert, Lizette, Cynthia, Giovanni, Danny, Evelyn, Ruthy, Nasya and Melchizedec. Twenty-one great-grandchildren, and Seven Great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service celebrating the life of Manuela will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Flagler Memorial Gardens.
