She was born on February 12, 1930 in Azores, Portugal to the late Ildefonso Januario Borges and Emilia Rodrigues Quartilho.

She was a hard working woman and upon her retirement she became an active volunteer in her community, especially in the Portuguese American Cultural Center of Palm Coast where she put her talent of decorating, design and organization to use for the club's various fundraisers and events.

Mimi was also active in the Rancho Folclorico Corações de Portugal where she was the Madrinha. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Surviving are her children, Ildefonso (Fatima) Rito of Palm Coast, Lisa (Colin) Niles of Fall River, MA, Nicole (Dylan) Attia of Brooklyn, NY, Duarte (Aldevina) Rito of New Bedford, MA, Maria da Graca Figueirdo of Portugal; grandchildren, Juliette, Caroline, Ricardo, Ana, Paula, Sandra, Susana, Duartinho, Herberto, Filipa, one soon to be born Chloe, and many more great-grandchildren, relatives and loving friends.

Preceding her in death was her son, Alexandre Rito in 2010.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, from 4:00-7:00PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, and Monday from 10-11 am. Funeral Service will be on Monday, 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Rancho Folclorico Corações de Portugal c/o Portuguese American Cultural Center 1200 Palm Harbor Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137.
