A funeral service celebrating the life of Maria I. Sarmento 71, of Palm Coast will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 1:00 PM at the chapel of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd S. Flagler Beach. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 11:00AM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
Maria passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010. She was born on May 6, 1939 Portugal to the late Antonio Louis and Maria Lourdes Cunha (Calvao). In 1987 she and her husband moved to the Palm Coast area from West Haven, Ct. Maria enjoyed dancing, gardening and cooking but her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Manuel M. Sarmento; daughter, Judy Capo of Palm Coast; sons, Carlos and his wife Sandra Sarmento of Northford, CT; Helder Sarmento of Bunnell; Antonio and his wife Patrizia Sarmento of North Branford, CT; John and his wife Tracy Sarmento of Bunnell; Ronnie Sarmento of Palm Coast; sisters, Leonor Calvao of Portugal; Fernanda Cunha of West Haven, CT; Maria Martins of North Haven, CT; grandchildren, Danny Borges, Jonathan, Spencer, Stephen, Andrew, Antonio, Gabriella, Kayla and Jet Sarmento.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Services are in the care and trust of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home
