PALM COAST - Eli Seplowitz, 81, of Flower Hill Drive, who retired in 1987 as a grocery manager at the commissary at the U.S. Coast Guard Base New York City, died Sunday at The Terrace of Daytona Beach.
Mr. Seplowitz, an Army veteran of World War II, who served with the infantry and was awarded the Fourth Congressional District Normandy Medal.
He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1987 from Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a member of Temple Beth Shalom, Palm Coast, the Jewish War Veterans Association, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8696. Mr. Seplowitz enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing poker, traveling and collecting stamps and coins.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ann, Daytona Beach; and a brother, Hyman, Brooklyn.
