R. MARILYN SHEPHERD, HIKING CLUB MEMBER 

Ruth Marilyn Shepherd, 66, of Palm Fla., died at home on Sunday (April 17, 2000).  

Ms. Shepherd retired from the quality assurance department of Ortho Corp. in 1992 after 23 years of service.  

Born in West Portal, Ms. Shepherd lived most of her life in Bridgewater and retired to Hinton, W.Va., and Palm Coast. She was a 1951 graduate of Somerville High School and a graduate of Somerset County College.  

An avid hiker, she belonged to the New Horizons, Adirondack, Sierra and Appalachian Hiking Clubs. She was a charter member of the United Bridgewater Methodist Church, a member of the Bunnell Methodist Church and the New Jersey Club in Palm Coast.  

Survivors include two sons, Christopher P. Shepherd and his wife, Cindy, of Venice. Fla., Craig L. Shepherd and his wife, Carol, of Stockton; three daughters, Carole R. Shepherd of Flemington, Cathleen S. Ogg of Aurora, Colo. and Cynthia J. Wilk and her husband Gregory Wilk of Palm Coast.; a sister, Christine Payvis of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a brother, Albert Waltz of Venice, Fla.; six grandchildren; and her companion, John Kulesavage of Palm Coast.
