He was educated from elementary school through college under the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. He and his family relocated to East Orange and Newark, NJ. where he lived until his retirement from the pharmaceutical industry in 1995. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast, Florida and an Alumnus of Xavier University of New Orleans, LA. He enjoyed working with the Outreach Program at his church as long as he was able. He was an avid conversationalist and enjoyed the company of family and friends and sports events.

He will be lovingly remembered in prayers and in the hearts of those he leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 58 years Kara Rousseau Smith, son Lance Rousseau Smith, daughters Lauryn (Gary) Jones, Kara (Raymond) Russell, brother Raymond (Theresa) Smith, sister, Yvonne (Karlin) Dukes and four grandchildren: Candice (Danny) Daniels, Christina and Garrett Jones and Danielle Smith-Scott. His life will also be celebrated by sister-in-law Rhoyia H. Crozier and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

A funeral mass will be offered at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Saturday, August 3, 2013, 11:00AM with visitation from 10:00AM until service time in the memorial room. Entombment to follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.

Offerings in his memory may be made to Xavier University of New Orleans, LA and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Outreach Program, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL.
