PALM COAST -- Joao Soares, 74, of Faircastle Lane, a retired custodial maintenance worker for Aetna Insurance Co., died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital-Flagler, Bunnell. 

Mr. Soares was born in Portugal and moved to this area in 1999 from Connecticut. 

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Genoveva; three sons, Paul, Waterbury, Conn., Octavio, Hartford, Conn., and Joao, Portugal; two daughters, Helia Rodrigues, Palm Coast, and Aura Bettencourt, East Hartford, Conn.; and 10 grandchildren.
