PALM COAST - James Sommerfield, 74, of Federal Lane, who retired after 22 years as a Navy fire control technician, died Thursday at Florida Hospital-Flagler.
Mr. Sommerfield, who also owned a grocery store-deli in Colchester, Conn., was born in Warren, Ohio. He moved here in 2003 from Winter Haven. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve, both in Winter Haven. Mr. Sommerfield enjoyed cooking, bowling and travel.
Survivors include his wife of 52, years, Agnes; a son Douglas, Tampa; two daughters, SueAnn Dutcher, Palm Coast, and Joyce Steinmiller, Starksboro, Vt.; and five grandchildren.
