PALM COAST -- Michael Charles States, 67, who retired from the CIA after 25 years, died Thursday at Florida Hospital Flagler. Mr. States was born in Reno, Nev., and moved here in 2005 from Fairfax, Va. He also worked for Questech and for CACI International Inc. and as a consultant.

He was a graduate of California State Polytechnic College with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics. He enjoyed boating, computers and working with a metal detector.

Survivors include his com­panion, Leslie Seifers; a son, Charles, Orlando; and a step­ brother, Roger States.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119.

Graveside services for Michael C. States, 67, Palm Coast, will be held Monday, June 11, 2007 at 11 a.m. in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach. Burial will follow.

Mr. States, a resident of Palm Coast since 2005 coming from Fairfax, Va., passed away June 7, 2007, in Florida Hospital Flagler, Palm Coast. He was born in Reno, Nev., a son of the late Charles A. and Dorothy M. Cooper States.

He was a graduate of California State Polytechnic College with a BS in electrical engineering and a BA in mathematics. Mr. States retired from the CIA after 25 years of service and thereafter worked for Questech and CACI International, as well as being a consultant.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Caroline; and his sister, Joyce Ann Ransford.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Stacey States, Orlando; stepbrother, Roger States; niece and nephews; and his companion of 7 years, Leslie Seifers.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL.
