A funeral service for Bridget O’Hara Strickland, 96, of Flagler Beach will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012, 11:00AM at the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. South Flagler Beach. Friends may visit on Friday from 10:00AM until time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.

Bridget was born on February 6, 1916 in Athens, GA to the late Edward and Jane O’Hara (Boswell). She settled into the area in 1962 after living all over the world due to her husband’s military commitments. Her memberships included Santa Maria del mar Catholic Church where she was one of 6 founding families. Bridget was an artist and created beautiful oil paintings and stained glass pieces but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her beloved family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lee Strickland in 2011. Survivors include her sons, Dean and his wife Patti Strickland of Hawthorne; Shawn Strickland of Flagler Beach; Shane Strickland of Big Pine Key; granddaughter, Michelle Bush; great grandchildren, Andrea Tice and Kate Bush; great-great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jenna Tice.

Services are in the care and trust of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
