BUNNELL - Emmett W. Strickland, 85, of Old Dixie Highway, a former timber industry worker, died Thursday at Memorial Hospital-Ormond Beach. 

Mr. Strickland was born in Washington County, and moved to this area in 1938 from his birthplace. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church, Korona, and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sally; two daughters, Dorothy Strickland, Holly Hill, and Helen Woodfin, Bunnell; five sisters, Bethel Morrell, Odessa Casey, Elma Morrell, Velma Stiller, and Idell Anglin, all of Ebro; two grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
