Elizabeth (Betty) Y. Tornabene

Tornabene of Palm Coast, Florida passed away peacefully on January 19 at the age 78. Mrs. Tornabene was born on December 1931 to William and Alice Shocker in Yonkers, NY. She married the love of her life, Frank Tornabene on November 18, 1951 at St. Barnabas Church in Bronx, NY.

Betty lived in White Plains, NY before moving to Florida in 1978. She worked at the Flagler County Council on Aging for 12 years before retiring at the age of 70. Betty enjoyed gardening, reading, and was devoted and caring to her husband Frank, her family, and many friends.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband Frank; her daughter Debbie Durtsche (Mike) of Ossining, NY; and son Frank Tornabene Jr. of Mamaroneck, NY. She is also survived by six cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also survived by brothers, Bill Shocker (Mary Ann) of Yonkers, NY and Freddie (Dee) Shocker of Liberty, NY.

Betty was predeceased by her parents and brother John Shocker, all of Yonkers, NY.

Betty will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of those that loved her. The family will receive friends and family at the Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home at 511 Old Kings Rd. S., Flagler Beach, FL today (Thursday, January 21), from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 -8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
