Paolo Torre, 86, of Palm Coast, died peacefully November 2, 2017 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. Mr. Torre was born January 5, 1931 in Castiglione, Sicily, Italy, a son of Vincenzo and Angela Marchese Torre.

Before he came to the United States, he and his family worked as farmers in Sicily. He immigrated to the United States in 1968, aboard the Christopher Columbus coming through Ellis Island. Mr. Torre raised his family in Mt. Vernon, NY. He worked as a carpet layer, and was a very talented handyman. He moved to Florida in 1986 along with his family.

He was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking, dancing, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, where he was fondly known as Nonno. He was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, and a former member of the Italian American Social Club of Palm Coast.

Mr. Torre is survived by his spouse of 61 years, the former Nicoletta Portale, whom he married February 11, 1956. One daughter Angela (Rosario) DiBella, of Palm Coast; Four grandchildren, Aggie (Larry) Goodman of Lake Mary, Lina (Rob) Williams of Bunnell, Joey (Lindsay) DiBella of Palm Coast. Four great-grandchildren, Sammy, Gina, Chloe, and Micah.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Paulie DiBella, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 4:00-6:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home in Flagler Beach.

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach. Entombment will follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Torre's name to the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, 150 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast FL 32164.
