Louis Trad, resident of Flagler County for the past 37 years, passed away at 10 o'clock Tuesday evening in the local hospital after a long illness. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Trad was born in Baalek, Lebanon, and came to the United States in 1908. He moved to Daytona Beach in 1925 from Milwaukee, Wis. He operated a garage on Volusia Ave. in Daytona Beach several months before coming to Flagler County. Here he was engaged in the farming and cattle industry. He owned and operated a farm on Highway 100 where he grew early Irish potatoes and also truck farmed.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and was a charter member of Flagler Post 115 of The American Legion of Bunnell. He was an active member of the post until his health failed.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nazhla Trad, Bunnell; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Kiley, Quebec, Canada; Mrs. Nazhla Ann Miholland, Miami; Mrs. Jeanette Anderson, Houston, Texas; and Kay Trad, Holly Hill;
Four sons, Peter of Phoenix, Ariz.; Louis, Jr., of Jacksonville; Sam and Charles of Bunnell; two brothers, George Trad of Lafayette, Mo., and Sam Trad of Milwaukee, survive. Also surviving are ten grandsons and one granddaughter.
Funeral service will be held from St. Stephens Catholic Church at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. The Rosary will be at the Craig Funeral Chapel at 8 o'clock Friday evening. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery.
Members of The American Legion will serve as pallbearers with the charter members serving as active pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Craig Chapel from noon Friday until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society or Heart Fund.
