PALM COAST -- John E. Trouton, 75, of Fernwood Lane, who retired from Con Edison in New York City in 1968 as a licensed street crane operator and up to 1984 was a business agent representing employees of the Utility Workers Union Local 1-2 for Con Edison, died Sunday at home.
Mr. Trouton, a Navy veteran of World War II, was born in New York City, and moved here in 1984 from Hicksville, N.Y. His memberships included St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church; American Legion; Players Tennis Club; Belle Terre S&R Club; Palm Harbor Golf Club; Ocean Palm Golf Club; and he was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he was the Americanism Officer, installing several flag poles in the Palm Coast area. He also was a member of the PAC Touring Club, a bicycling club that in 1989 rode their bikes from San Diego to Jacksonville in 20 days.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rita; a daughter, Gail Heartt, Palm Coast; a brother, Edward, Gibbsboro, N.J.; a sister, Joan Kleuss, Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
