Joseph Edward Tully



Joseph Edward Tully, 89, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on December 27, 2022 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on November 15, 1933 in Queens, New York to the late Joseph and Mildred Tully. Joseph graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY before enlisted and served in the US Navy from 1952-1956 during the Korean War. Later he attended college at night earning a degree in Accounting and continued on eventually earning a Masters Degree in History.

Early in his career, Joseph worked as the youngest Comptroller for the Town of Smithown, NY. He continued advancing his career and retired after 30 years as the Director of Real Estate Operations at the McGraw-Hill Publishing Company in New York City. After retiring Joseph stayed active and taught High School History for several years in Ludlow, Vermont.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Dianna and son Timothy. He is survived by two sons, Terrence (Laura), and Joseph. Proud Grandfather of two grandchildren, Tricia Peterson (Brandon) and Jennifer Tully; two great-grandchildren, Elodie and Dean Peterson.

His memberships included the American Legion and Knights of Columbus. Joseph enjoyed reading, playing golf and traveling the world with his wife Diana. Their favorite location was Germany.

A memorial gathering for Joseph will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church - Memorial Room, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32164. A funeral mass will occur Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32164. An interment with military honors will follow the mass at Flagler Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136.
