TURLEY, MARILYN C., 80, of Ormond Beach, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at Florida Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Originally from Boston, MA, she was the wife of David L. Turley for nearly fifty years.

Mrs. Turley was born on July 8, 1929 and was the fourth child of Samuel and Grace Alexander of Roslindale, MA. She was educated in the Boston school system, having attended the Longfellow School and The Washington Irving Junior High, as well as having graduated from Roslindale High School. She was always a straight "A" student.

Marilyn was hired by Eastern Gas and Fuel Associates in Boston when she applied at Boston Gas Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastern Gas. She was the receptionist and secretary to the Vice President of Public Relations at Eastern Gas where she met her future husband.

Marilyn was married in 1960 and the Turley's settled in Sharon, MA. They raised three children, Sandra Marie Lund of Voyens, Denmark, Gail Grace Speltz of Orlando, FL, and David A. Turley of Orlando, FL.

After relocating to Florida in 1976, she graduated from Seminole Junior College with a degree in interior design. She then founded and ran her own firm, Kaleidoscope Interior Design, which she operated for many years. Before moving to Ormond Beach in 2001, the Turley's were residents of Sweetwater Oaks in Long wood, FL.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; her three children, Sandy, Gigi and David; and three grandchildren, Tanya Speltz of Orlando, and Mia and Emma Thorhauge of Voyens, Denmark.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive guests prior to the service at Lohman Funeral Home's Ormond location at 733 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach.
