Funeral services for Norma D. Turner 95, a pioneer resident of Flagler County will be held on Friday November 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 400 N Palmetto St. Bunnell FL. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Church. Burial will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Turner, a lifelong resident of Bunnell passed away on Thursday November 22, 2012. She was born on December 17, 1916 a daughter of the late Thomas Omega and Irene Malthilda Jeppson Durrance. Mrs. Turner for many years was the head dietician at Bunnell High School and Elementary School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Flagler County Historical Society, the Daughters of Confederacy, and the Flagler Pioneers Association. She enjoyed genealogy, cooking, looking at photography and reminiscing about the History of Flagler County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in the death by her husband, Charles Rodgers Turner, her son Charles Henry Turner, and four brothers, Nathan “Bud” Durrance, James “Bill” Durrance, Horace “Custer” Durrance and Thomas “Tommy” Durrance.
She is survived by her sister, Johnnie Durrance Helms of Tallahassee FL, her sister-in-law, Patsy Durrance of Bunnell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
