Aida Barreto de Valentin 85, of Palm Coast, passed away on February 2, 2019 at her home. She was born on October 4, 1933 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Buenaventura Barreto and Eleuteria Matias Morrell. She married her childhood friend/love Alejandro Valentin in 1957.

She moved to New York shortly after getting married and had her first child. Life circumstances brought her back to Puerto Rico and had her second child. In 1959 the family moved to New Jersey where she settled and raised her family after having 3 more children. In 2014 health issues brought her to Palm Coast to live with her adult children. Aida enjoyed cooking, going to church and gardening, especially raising her fruit trees but her greatest love in life were grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Valentin in 2002; husband, Alejandro Valentin in 2014; daughter, Marilyn Valentin in 2015.

Survivors include her sons, Alejandro and his wife Carrie Valentin, Edwin Valentin and Edward Valentin; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many more loving relatives and friends.

Donations in her memory may be made to American Liver Foundation.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, February 7, from 1:00PM - 3:00PM at the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach. A funeral service will be celebrated at 3:00PM. Burial to follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
