Funeral services for George Von Oehsen, 72, Ormond Beach, who passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Florida Hospital Flagler, will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. S., Flagler Beach. His family will receive friends today (Wednesday, December 23) from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach.

George was born on October 1, 1937 in Manhattan, NY to the late George and Mary (Chockla) Von Oehsen. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he retired from Eastern Airlines, where he worked in Operations/Dispatcher. George was also a Business Owner and a Realtor. He enjoyed painting, fishing, and golfing. George moved to Ormond Beach in 1998, coming from Virginia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan Von Oehsen, Ormond Beach. Additional survivors include his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Theresa and Dennis Lenart; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Audrey and Mark Dailey; his uncle, Tom Chockla and his wife, Julie; his uncle, Mitch Chockla; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and good friends.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of George to the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119.
