Betty Sun Wang
Betty S. “Mom” Wang, 93 of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on December 11, 2018.
Born in China, Betty exemplified the beauty and grace of Shanghai women of that era. With the help of missionaries, she emigrated to the United States. She earned a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences. Betty worked with the Detroit Public Library System and retired as a Librarian with the Maryland Public Library System after over twenty years of service.
She met her husband in Michigan at a social dance and they were married for sixty-two years.
Betty was an incredibly talented woman who could play the piano, paint, sing Chinese Opera, make origami, a tournament level mah-jong player and a Ikebana Floral Designer. She also was an active member of the AAUW and was devoted to her catholic faith.
Survivors include her loving husband, Dr. Yung Fa Wang; daughters, Cathy (Mike) Hewson, Debra (Dan) Smith; grandchildren, Carson & Kylie Smith, Anne LeMieux, Heather Hewson; great-grandchildren, Beau, Max and Cole LeMieux and many more loving relatives and friends.
Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
