William Edwin Heifner, 64, 38 Blakeport Lane, Palm Coast, died Saturday evening, Aug. 1, at his home.
Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Craig Chapel in Bunnell with the Rev. Kenneth R. Gaskin of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell officiating. Burial was at Flagler Palm Coast Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bunnell.
Pallbearers were John W. Brixius, Edgar J. Fraser, Larry Livesay, Robert J. Lozeau, Daniel Peterson, A. Michael Tuberose, Foster Udell and Joseph G. Werner.
Heifner was a native of Oxford, Ala., and lived Catharpin, Va., before coming to Palm Coast four years ago after selling his AAMCO Transmission business in Fairfax, Va. He was a Realtor associate with Coldwell Banker-Heiser Realty Inc. in Palm Coast and also a member of the Flagler County Board of Realtors.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran World War II and a graduate engineer from Maryland University, where he also served as assistant professor of marketing.
He was an engineering representative for Curtiss Wright Corp. in Europe, assigned to the U.S. Air Force, and later was an executive with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), during which time he was active in the International Electro technical Commission (IBC) and the National Fire Protection Association.
Heifner is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Diane, Newport News, Va; two sons, Charles W. and Robert F. of Catharpin, Va.; two sisters, Gussie Serpico, Arcadia, Calif., and Violet Parks, Palm Coast; and one brother, Fred Heifner, Palm Coast.
