William “Bill” M. Whitney 89, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on February 21, 2018 at Florida Hospital Flagler. He was born on July 15, 1928 in Bronx, New York to the late William N. Whitney & Elsie Wolff.

He proudly served in the US Navy during the end of WWII. Bill raised his family in upstate New York and in 2000 he moved to the Flagler Beach area to retire. His memberships had included at one time both the Lyons and Elks Club. In his younger years he enjoyed racquetball and jogging. In his later years he played horse shoes, swam and collected coins.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, William Whitney.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joan; children, Joanne (Wayne) Camp, Dianne (Peter) Casey; sister, Joyce Curran; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018, 1:00-2:00PM at the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach. A Memorial Service with military honors will begin at 2:00PM.

Placement of his cremated remains at Flagler Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date.
