PALM COAST - Sam L. Widener, 75, of Bren Mar Lane, who retired as manager of the Granada Campground in Flagler County, died Monday at home. Mr. Widener was born in Aiken, S.C., and moved here in 1995 from Hixson, Tenn. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar, banjo, fiddle and keyboard.

Survivors include his companion of 14 years, Judith Matthews; two sons, Michael, Tennessee, and Daniel, Georgia; a daughter, Gloria Jean Gann, Tennessee; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, 6050 Palm Coast Parkway NW, Palm Coast, FL 32164.

Funeral service for Sam L. Widener, 75, Bren Mar Lane, Palm Coast, will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2005, in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach. Burial will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
