BUNNELL - Mikal Patrick Widing, 17, of North Anderson Street, a senior at Flagler-Palm Coast High School, died Thursday on S. R. 100 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Widing moved to this area in 1981 from Midland, Mich., his birthplace. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the ROTC, Future Farmers of America and the Flagler-Palm Coast High School Lacrosse Team. He served as a junior marshall at graduation, was an honor student and was elected to the Leadership Conference of Florida.
Survivors include his mother; Gayle Widing, Bunnell; his father, Patrick Widing, Lake City, Tenn.; and four sisters, Katie Widing, Bunnell, Kelly Jones and Penny Shoopman, both of Byron, Mich., and Cathy Wilson, Fenton, Mich.
Craig, Palm Coast, is in charge.

WIDING, MIKAL PATRICK - Funeral services for Mikal Patrick Widing, 17, North Anderson Street, Bunnell, who died Thursday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bunnell First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Upleger officiating. Interment will be in Flagler-Palms Memorial Gardens.
Visitation at Craig Funeral Home will be today (Saturday) and Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Mikal was born in Midland, Mich., and moved to Flagler County when he was two years old. He would have been a senior next year at Flagler Palm Coast High School.
Mikal was a member of Bunnell First United Methodist Church, ROTC, FFA and Flagler Palm Coast High Lacrosse Team. He served as a Junior Marshall at this year's graduation. He was an honor student and elected to the Leadership Conference of Florida.
Survivors include his mother, Gayle, Bunnell; father, Patrick, Lake City, Tenn.; and sisters, Katie Widing; Bunnell, Kelly Jones and Penny Shoopman, Byron, Mich., and Cathy Wilson, Fenton, Mich.
