Mrs. Bess Benson Wilcox of Flagler Beach died in the local hospital Saturday morning, February 13, after an illness of about a month. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Wilcox was born in Coloma, Michigan, and had lived in Flagler County since 1930. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in the schools of Flagler County for a number of years. She also taught in Alachua County at Island Grove and at Hawthorne. She was a member of a number of professional organizations.

Mrs. Wilcox is survived by her husband, George P. Wilcox of Flagler Beach; a daughter, Mrs. E. J. Chaffee of Flagler Beach; two sons, Dudley W. Benson of Gainesville, Florida, and Robert R. Benson of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held at Hope Cemetery at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. Reynold Hoover, pastor of the Flagler Beach Methodist Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Glenn Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Flagler Beach.

The family requested that flowers be omitted and instead memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes or other favorite organizations in the county.

Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell was in charge of arrangements.
