JACKSONVILLE - Sydney G. Williams, 89, of Jacksonville, a former Palm Coast resident, died Saturday at Palm Gardens of Jacksonville. A native of Sydney, Australia, Mr. Williams was a member of the British Merchant Marines, and retired as a chef.  

He moved to Jacksonville in 2003 from Palm Coast. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, Bunnell. He enjoyed painting, baking, decorating wedding cakes, singing, piano and the opera.  

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Clara; a son, Bryan, Jacksonville; and four grandchildren.  

Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.
