Homegoing Celebration for Elder Willie L. Durden, Sr., 82, who transitioned from labor to reward with his loving and devoted wife holding his hand on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, will be 11AM Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 503 S. Church St., Bunnell, FL. Interment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery, Palm Coast, FL. The Durden Family will receive extended family and friends on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 5:30PM-8PM with a Victory Celebration at 6PM-8PM. at Holy Temple COGIC.

Elder Willie L. Durden, Sr. was born on Wednesday, July 3, 1940 to Mary L. Davis and Clifford H. Durden, Sr. He received his education in the Volusia County School District and subsequently graduated from Campbell Street High School in Daytona Beach, FL.

On Sunday, December, 1959, Willie L. Durden, Sr. made a conscious decision to join as one with Mamie L. Durden. Born of this union were three daughters and one son. Willie L. Durden, Sr. continued to enhance his knowledge in the ministry and commenced his educational experience with American School of Bible in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He has always had a heart of gold and would help anyone that stood in the need of help.

Elder Willie L. Durden, Sr. was the Pastor of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ where he has served for decades.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his grandson, Willie Lawrence Durden, 111. Elder Willie L. Durden, Sr., leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife of 62 years: Mamie L. Durden; 4 children: Cynthia (Franklin) Durden-Williams, Willie L. (Robbin) Durden, Jr., Constance Durden (Sheldon) Robinson, and Belinda Durden; brother: Clifford H. (Brenda) Durden, Jr.; sister: Jacqueline L. (Mitchell Sr.) Seabrooks; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Holy Temple Church Family.
