Wilbert Harris, 64, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Wilbert was born to the late Emery and Martha Foster Harris on Nov. 21, 1948, in Lamont, Fla. Wilbert attended the public school system of Flagler County. Wilbert moved to St. Petersburg in 1967 and worked for Jordan Brothers Construction, Federal Construction Company and other local construction companies in Pinellas County, Fla. Wilbert was a member of Greater Mt. Zion AME Church, Pastor, Clarence A. Williams.

Wilbert was preceded in death by his brother, Roosevelt Harris, step-brother, Robert Lee Smith, and his sister, Dorothy Mae Welcome.

He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Janice Harris; sons, Chris Johnson and Brian Harris; brothers, Clifford Harris (Gloria), Rodester (Pennie); sisters, Lorriane Harris, Bobbie Jean Harris, Vernie Deen Godwin, Shirley Harris, Joan Harris and Mary Ann Ghents; brother-in-law, June Welcome; sister-in-law, Maxine Robinson (G. Lancaster); grandchildren, Javaris Harris, Anfernee Harris, and Jaylean Harris; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and loving friends, Veronica Flowers, Chris Krieger and Helen Blount.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Espanola, Fla. Viewing will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at St. Paul MBC, Dr. Frank Giddens, officiating. Burial will commence in Masonic Cemetery.
