John "Papa Man" Melvin, 56, of Bunnell, Fla, died Sept. 3, 2012, from a motorcycle accident. He was born Oct. 1, 1955, to James and Minnie Melvin.

He was educated in Flagler County School System, and was of the Baptist faith. He was self-employed as a landscaper and married the love of his life, Catherine in 1974. He was a member of the "Local Riders."

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; children, Moya Stephens, Shyteaya, KeShaun and John Melvin; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Irene, Corine, Ella and Mary; and brother, Alphonso.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Espanola, Pastor Dr. Frank Giddens and Pastor Michael McKay, officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Palm Coast, Fla. Viewing will be at the church on Friday from 6-7:30 p.m.
