Ruth Porter, 47, of Houston, died March 26, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center in Houston. Mrs. Porter was a native of Bunnell and had resided in Houston. Mrs. Porter a domestic engineer and a former member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Espanola.

Services: 2 p.m. today at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Espanola. Officiating: The Rev. Michael McKay. Burial: Masonic Cemetery, Palm Coast.

Survivors: Her longtime companion, Mitchell Sims, Sr.; her children, Mitchell Sims, III, Courtney M. Porter and Andreanna Sims, all of Houston; sisters, Beulah Johnson, Gainesville, and Jimmie Dean Porter, Palatka; brothers, Arbie McClendon, Charles McClendon, Palm Coast and Jimmy McCray, Daytona Beach; and other family members and friends.
