Herman Lee Smith, Sr., 58, of Bunnell transitioned on Monday, June 26, 2017. He was a native of Johnsonville, SC., and was educated in the Flagler County School District. He was employed at Truss Systems of Bunnell, for over 30 years and formerly attended Mt. Moriah Methodist Church, Bunnell.

He was preceded by his father and brother, Wilbert Chester Smith, Sr., and Jr.

Survivors: mother, May Smith; sons and daughter, Herman Smith, Jr., and Sonya Smith; Maurice Godwin; five grandchildren; sisters, Tracy Gervin (Willie) Johnson, Vera Giddens, Katie (Joe) Turner, Linda Smith, Gloria Smith, Beatrice Smith and Pearl (Earl) Thomas; brothers, David Gervin, Michael Love; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation: 5:30-7 p.m., Friday, July 7; Homegoing Celebration: 11 a.m., Saturday, July 8, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 609 State Street, Bunnell, Rev. Dr. Patrick Wilkerson, Pastor. Rev. Michael McKay, Pastor of Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Palatka, is the eulogist. Interment: Masonic Cemetery.
