Jack Walker, 84, of Bunnell, died Friday, May 7, 2004 at Emory Bennett Nursing Home in Daytona Beach following a brief illness.

Arrangements will be handled by Coleman's Mortuary of Hastings.

Jack Walker, 84, of Bunnell, died May 7, 2004, at the Emory Bennett Veteran's Nursing Home in Daytona Beach after a battle with his health.

He was a native of Dawson, Ala., and had resided in Bunnell nearly 50 years. He was self-employed as a tavern owner and he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Jack Walker was born on May 30, 1919 in Dawson, Ala., to the late Annie Mae Walker-Brown and Benjamin Brown.

He moved to Flagler County nearly 50 years ago and began his ownership as a self-employed tavern owner. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he enjoyed most of all his grand and great-grandchildren.

He died May 7, 2004 at the Emory Bennett Veterans Nursing Home in Daytona Beach after a compassionate and courageous battle of declining health.

Survivors are his wife of 26 years, Louise Walker of Bunnell; stepdaughter, Martina (Mikel) Crowley of Palm Coast; stepsons, Herbert Bell of Sanderson; Lt. R. C. Brown (Diane) and Lt. James Hall, both of Bunnell; and Freddie Walker; seven grandchildren; brothers, James Sellers of Espanola and Willie "Bay" Sellers of Bunnell; brothers-in-law, Tony Stafford of Orlando; Nathan L. McCall of Daytona Beach and Charles Allen of Bunnell; sisters-in-law, Evelyn "Diane" McCall and Brenda McCall, both of Daytona Beach and Patricia "Ann" Powell of Bunnell; niece, Mattie "Peaches" McCall of Daytona Beach; ten great-grandchildren; aunts, Rosa Lee (Lester) Martin and Mamie (Emory) Sapp, all of Miami; many cousins and special friends; mother, Donna Lumpkin and the Holy Temple Family, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 15 at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ with Pastor Durden officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Palm Coast.

Coleman's Mortuary in Hastings is handling arrangements.
