Dancy Munroe Miller was born 02 Sep 1890 in Bunnell, St. Johns, now Flagler County, Florida. He was the son of James C. Miller and Annie Eliza Burnside.
He farmed with his father before enlisting in the Navy in WW I. He died of meningitis in 1918 while stationed at Norfolk, VA, buried Flagler County. He was the first soldier to die while serving his county in WW I and on 19 Apr 1927, when the local American Legion post was chartered, it was named in his honor. The post later went inactive and the present post Flagler Post 115 was chartered in the late 30's.
