G. Wayne Banks, 71, passed away Sept. 28 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. A St. Augustine native, he was a retired meat cutter and had worked with Pantry Pride, Miller"s and Winn-Dixie. He enjoyed being out of doors, hunting, time with his family, and his beloved dog, Hunter.

Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Caroline; son, Alan; brothers, David (Julia) and Gary (Patty); his Uncle Max and Aunt Betty Bennett, and uncle Floyd and Aunt Nancy Banks; and brothers-in-law, Hewitt (Alleen) Dupont and Douglas (Sandy) Dupont.

There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home. The graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pellicer Creek Cemetery.

Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
