Walter R. "Rocky" Beaver, 79, of Hollister, Fla., died March 6, 2008, at his home. Mr. Beaver was a native of Apison, Tenn., a former resident of St. Augustine and had resided in Hollister for the past seven years, coming from Ringgold, Ga. Mr. Beaver was a retired general contractor.

Services: The family will receive friends 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pellicer Creek Cemetery near Hastings with services at 3:30 p.m. at the cemetery. Officiating: The Rev. Ted Rodda, Jr. Burial: Pellicer Creek Cemetery.

Survivors: His sons, William, Barnes, Hollister, Brian Beaver, Jacksonville, Fla., and Scott Beaver, St. Augustine; daughter, Debra Martin, Jacksonville; brothers, W.A. Beaver and Paul Beaver, both of St. Augustine; sisters, Vivian Abney, Polly Wells and Jean Genovar, all of Ringold; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
