Mrs. E. Carter Dies; Rites Are Set Wednesday

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Carter, 71, Elkton died Sunday in Flagler Hospital. A native of Soperton, Ga., she had resided in Elkton since 1963.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Hastings, and she held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary and was active in church circles.

Survivors include her husband, Emanuel C. Carter, Elkton; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hartman, Mrs. lone Wilkinson, two step-sons, Louis E. Carter, Lloyd J. Carter, all of Jackson­ville; two brothers, Matthew Meeks, Macon, Ga., Soloman Meeks, Soperton; three grand­children and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, in the chapel of the Craig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne E. Thomas, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Hastings, officiating. Burial will be in Pellicer Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel of the Craig Funeral Home from 4 p.m., Tuesday.
