Seth M. Carter, Former Resident, Passes Away

Seth M. Carter, 51, died unexpectedly Saturday in Jacksonville. He was a local resident of St. Augustine from 1927 until 19'8 after which time he moved to Jacksonville and made his home at 4120 Buckman Street.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Marine Corps overseas. He was a member of the Baptist Church and has worked as millwright with Owens-Illinois Company for the past twenty years.

Survivors include his father, C. C. Carter; three daughters, Lois, Nadine and Gloria Mae Carter, all of Jacksonville; four sons, Seth Carter Jr. and Charlie C. Carter, both of Jacksonville; Raymond Carter, United States Air Force, stationed in Nebraska; and Herman Carter, Jacksonville; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Burnett, Homerville, Ga., Mrs. Helen Watson and Mrs. Betty Jean Hernandez, both of St. Augustine, and Mrs. Geraldine Erfert, Longmont, Colorado; four brothers, William. L., Gerald and Harold O. Carter, all of St. Augustine, and Cecil C. Carter of Cocoa Beach; seven grandchil­dren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Hardage and Sons Northside Funeral Home, 4315 Main Street, Jacksonville. Interment 'will be at Pellicer Creek Cemetery, to be interred close to his wife, the former Mae DuPont.

Services will be held at ten o'clock in the morning, on Tuesday, at Hardage and Sons Chapel.
