Catherine Yelvington Cody, 93, of Fletcher, N.C., formerly of St. Augustine, Fla., died May 29, 2008, at Universal Healthcare. She was born in Hastings, Fla., and has resided in St. Augustine since 1954, before moving to North Carolina. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Pellicer Creek Cemetery with The Rev. David Rice, officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday 5 to 7 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home Chapel. Those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, N.C. 28731.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Cecil Cody; one grandchild; two sisters, Willie Mae Newcomb and Helen Floyd; and a brother, Elmer Yelvington. 

She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Tavie Webb, Anita Hall and husband Clement, Carol Bagwell and husband Kenneth, and Bonnie Seyle; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
