Helen Elizabeth Floyd, 88, of St. Augustine, died April 13, 2006, at Sefton Park Lodge in St. Augustine. Mrs. Floyd was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine, a Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and lifelong member of the Hastings First Baptist Church. Mrs. Floyd was a homemaker.

Helen Yelvington Floyd passed away April 13, 2006. She was born to Henry and Lorena Yelvington Sept. 4, 1917.
Helen is predeceased by her husband, James Bourke Floyd, Sr. and son James "Jimmy" B. Floyd, Jr. Helen leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Mary Faith Floyd Spikes; a grandson, Joseph F. Spikes, Jr. (Susan); a sister, Catherine Cody; a daughter-in-law, Reba Scarborough Floyd; step-granddaughter, Cathy Lowe Hughes; and step great-grandson, James Carter. She leaves many nieces and nephews as well, to cherish her memory. A special mention goes to Kelly Morgan, Helen's care-giver and her hospice nurse, Karen Hoover.
Helen has been a life-long resident of St. Johns County, a supporter of her family and faithful supporter of her church, Hastings First Baptist Church.
Additionally, she served as past Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of Florida, Chapter 12.
A graveside service will be held at Pellicer Creek Cemetery this Saturday, April 22, 2006; at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Doug Knight, Hastings First Baptist Church officiating. The Order of the Eastern Star will be participating in honoring Helen's Life.
