J. R. Higginbotham, Longtime Hastings Councilman, Dies

J. Russell Higginbotham, 65, a longtime councilman. in Hastings recently reelected to another term, died early today in St. Augustine General Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Hastings.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hastings, and he was a Mason and a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Higginbotham, Hastings, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services are planned at Pellicer Creek Cemetery, with further arrangements to be announced

Johnson's Funeral Home, Palatka, is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for J. Russell Higginbotham, 65, Hastings, a longtime councilman there, who died Tuesday in St. Augustine General Hospital, were to be held at 4 p.m., today, at Pellicer Creek Cemetery, with the Rev. W. O. Wilham, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hastings, officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Higginbotham, Hastings; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Johnson-Davis Funeral Home, Palatka, was in charge.
