HASTING MAN DIES AT AGE 87

PALATKA – J. R. McCullar, 87, of Hastings, died at local hospital Tuesday night. 

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hastings, with the Rev. E. A Simmons and the Rev. C. L. Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Pellicer Creek under the direction of W, Carl Davis and Son. 

A native of Floris, McCullar was born Feb 7. 1865, and moved to Hastings when 12 years of age and has resided there since. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Hastings Lodge No 183, F&AM. 

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sally McCullar, three sons: R. E., C. P., and J. E. McCullar, Hastings; three daughters: Mrs. T. A. Payne, Palatka, Mrs. D J. Hart, 225 Congress Ave., Daytona Beach, and Mrs. George M. Moore, Silver Springs, Md.; and two sisters: Mrs. Minnie Adams and Mrs. Ada Minton, Tampa.
