Joseph Leaston Pellicer, constable and town policeman of Bunnell, died early Wednesday morning in the Flagler Clinic and hospital, following a short illness.
Mr. Pe1licer had served as constable of District No.1 for 30 years and, had also served as deputy sheriff of Flagler County for a number of years.
He was a native of Georgia but had lived in Flagler County about 50 years. He was 65 years old.
He is survived by three daughters, Miss Polly Pellicer and Mrs. Willene Norris of New Smyrna Beach and Mrs. Reba Brooks of Brooksville; one sister, Mrs. Laura Frier, Bunnell; and two brothers, Eddie Pellicer and Phodie Pellicer, both of Bunnell. Also surviving, are six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Bunnell with Rev. L. E. Watkins, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Pellicer Creek Cemetery. The body will rest in the chapel of Garcia Funeral Home, St. Augustine, from this afternoon until the funeral hour Friday.
Pallbearers are Dean Holland, Clyde Lewis, Otis Hunter, Dewey Moody, T. K., McKnight and Henry Wells.
