Fred Stevens, 95, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Orange Park Medical Center. He was a retired NASA electronics technician and a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He was born in Hastings and had lived in Jacksonville for the past three years.

Services: 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Craig Funeral Home Chapel. Calling hours: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home. Burial: Pellicer Creek Cemetery.

Donations in his memory can be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.

Survivors: A daughter, Eilene Israel of Jacksonville; a son, Michael Stevens of Bainbridge, Ga.; a sister, Margaret Straughn; brothers Tom Stevens, Edward Stevens and Harold Stevens; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mariam; sisters Nettie Hobes and Mildred Gramling; brothers C.R. Stevens and Wallace Stevens; and two great-great-grandchildren.

STEVENS – Fred Stevens, age 95, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 in Orange Park, FL.
Fred was born in Hastings, FL on October 10, 1911 to Charles and Cythia Stevens. Fred loved electronics and eventually became an electronics technician for NASA.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Eilene and William Israel of Jacksonville; son Michael and Marge of Bainbridge, GA; 1 sister; 3 brothers; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Fred’s family will receive friends Tuesday, 11-12 noon with a funeral service starting at 12 noon at Craig Funeral Home, interment to follow at Pellicer Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in Fred’s name may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
